Maria Dona DMD, MSD, DMSc
After completing her dental degree and residency in general dentistry in 2002 in Romania, Dr. Maria Dona moved to United States to continue her dental training. She earned her Master of Science degree in Oral Biology from Boston University, and continued her training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where she completed a combined program with a Certificate for graduate training in Periodontology and Doctor of Medical Science in Oral Biology Degree.
She continued her studies at Harvard School of Dental Medicine where she was accepted in the Advanced Standing Program and received her DMD degree. Dr. Dona is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and has been actively involved in basic and clinical research. She authored and co-authored numerous papers and a book in clinical periodontology, as well as presented her work at several dental conferences. She is an active member of several professional associations including the American Academy of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, Harvard Odontological Society, American Academy of Dental Sciences. She is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Massachusetts Dental Society and its constituent organizations, including the Merrimack Valley District Dental Society. She is also a member of the Standing Committee for Women in Dentistry. Dr. Dona is committed to integrating her research and clinical experience with the latest procedures and technologies to continually advance in the periodontal and implant fields to best serve each of her patients.
Dr. Dona lives in Southern New Hampshire with her husband, and they are the proud parents of sons Matthew & Justin. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and outdoor activities, such as hiking, canoeing, and skiing.
